‘Robbed’ ‘Man Kept 5 Clean Sheets’ Fans Frustrated As City Star Misses Out On Euro 2020 Team of The Tournament

While two Manchester City players, Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling, made it into UEFA’s official Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament, one other, John Stones, was a surprise omission from the eleven.

England’s defence kept five clean sheets and let in just two goals over seven matches during the competition, and many fans on Twitter feel Stones was more deserving than Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, who also was named in the team:

One other Premier League star, Chelsea’s Jorginho, also made it into the team, with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Leonardo Bonucci, Leonardo Spinazzola, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Pedri, Federico Chiesa and Romelu Lukaku also included.

Stones does, though, deserve more recognition for his achievements, not only for England, but for his performances at club level over the past twelve months. The 26-year-old was seemingly on his way out of the Etihad last summer, but he has worked extremely hard to turn his City career around.
